SUDAN SUED !

Sudan sued over USS Cole attack.
By James Westhead BBC News, Washington

The suicide bombing tore a large hole in the hull of the USS Cole. The government of Sudan is being sued in the United States, after being accused of aiding terrorism.
The case has been brought by families of US sailors killed in an attack on a US warship seven years ago.
The families claim Sudan is to blame for helping al-Qaeda, and are seeking damages of more than $100m.
The suicide bomb attack on the USS Cole, a destroyer moored off Yemen in October 2000, killed 17 American sailors and injured 39.
The families claim the Sudanese government gave al-Qaeda and its leader, Osama Bin Laden, financial and technical support, allowing the group to establish training bases, run businesses and even use Sudanese diplomatic passports to carry explosives.
The Sudanese government insists there is no link with al-Qaeda - a view backed by one recent US government report.
But the families disagree. They hope to claim the damages from millions of dollars in Sudanese assets frozen in the US.
Their hope is also, their lawyers say, to make it prohibitively expensive for nations to become involved in terrorism.
