MCCARTNEY SELLS OUT IN 'SECONDS'
Tickets for the concert went on sale on Valentine's Day |
Tickets for a one-off gig by Sir Paul McCartney in Las Vegas sold out seven seconds after going on sale, organisers have announced.
Just 4,000 fans will see the former Beatle perform at the opening of the New Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on 19 April.
Sales opened on 14 February and sold at a rate of almost 600 seats a second, according to promoter Concerts West.
Its spokesman said it would be "a night like Vegas has never seen before."
Take That hold the record for the fastest sell-out of a music tour when all 600,000 tickets for their Circus tour sold out in four-and-a-half hours last year.
Organisers claim Sir Paul has beaten that feat, although this has yet to be verified by the Guinness Book of Records.
The new $60 million (£43.6m) Joint is double the size of its predecessor, where bands including Oasis, The Killers, Linkin Park and Bon Jovi performed.
Sir Paul was in Paris on Monday to see his fashion designer daughter Stella unveil her latest ready-to-wear collection.
He is set to headline the opening day of the Coachella music festival in California in April.BBC NEWS REPORT.
