DID YOU KNOW?

The world's population is growing by 80 million every year.

Six babies are born, and three people die, every second.

50% of the worlds plants and animals are harvested for human use.

More than three billion people do not have enough food to eat.

One of the most densely populated countries is in South East Asia -
Singapore with 6,430 people per square metre. It's a city on an island,
so there is little room to expand. Many people live in skyscraper apartments.

In contrast, Australia is almost the same size as Europe, bur has a population
of just 21 million people( Europe has 730 million). Large parts of the country
are so hot and dry that it's impossible for people to live there, making Australia
one of the least densely populated countries on Earth.
