A Queen fan has won a private guitar lesson with Brian May after bidding more than £7,500 at a charity auction in London.

The winning buyer, who has chosen to remain anonymous, paid £7,600 for the two-hour, one-to-one tutorial which will be held at May's home.

It will be the first time the rocker has given a guitar lesson.

The auction was held in support of the Action for Brazil's Children Trust, of which May is a patron.

"I have been a patron of the ABC Trust for a number of years now and provide support whenever I can," May said.

"The work they do with children and young people who are forced to live or work on the streets of Brazil makes a real difference."

May was awarded a CBE in 2006 for his services to music and his charity work.

Nine guitars that were custom designed by leading street artists in Brazil and Britain were also auctioned at the London event, which raised more than £30,000.

ABC supports more than 20 projects tackling the problems of extreme poverty, drug addiction, exploitation and abuse that drive children on to the streets of Brazil.
