HUGE BLAST SHAKES CENTRAL KABUL !
A large explosion has killed at least two people in the centre of the Afghan capital, Kabul.
It is not clear what caused the blast shortly after midday. Eyewitnesses say it shook buildings.
A plume of black smoke is now hanging over the area where the explosion occurred, in which foreign embassies and military installations are located.
The blast comes amid mounting violence between the Taliban and foreign and Afghan security forces.
It also comes amid widespread accusations of fraud in last month's elections.
There have been several bomb attacks in Kabul this year.
In August 2009, Nato's Kabul headquarters was hit by a suicide car bomb attack which killed seven Afghan civilians.
Correspondents said then that the attack underscored the increasingly brazen nature of the Taliban threat.
